1999 Nigerian Governors Forum Commiserates with Government, People of Yobe State Over Denise of Former Governor

The 1999 Nigerian Governors Forum, NGF, has expressed sadness over the death of one of its members and the first Executive Governor of Yobe State, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, who died on 4th February 2024 while receiving treatment in the holy land of Saudi Arabia.

Registering the condolence, the former governor of Jigawa State and the member of the forum, Alhaji Saminu Turaki said he was in the Yobe State Government House Damaturu on behalf of the entire members of the 1999 governors forum to sympathize with the government and the good people of the State.

Saminu Turaki described the death of the former Governor and former Senator as a great loss not only for Yobe State but for the whole Country.

He further described the deceased as a peace-lover who always looking for an amicable way of addressing the situation.

Turaki explains that death is inevitable but the only way of showing love to the deceased is to always include him in our prayers for Almighty ALLAH to make things easier for him.

Late Bukar Abba Ibrahim, a three-term governor of the state and also a three-term Senator, left behind legacies during his tenure in office, arising from the introduction of Basic and Secondary free education, Secondary Schools Feeding, Scholarship to Students in tertiary institutions of learning, the establishment of the state university, Gujba Fertilizer Company, and Housing scheme among many others.
