38th Convocation: 189 Bags First Class Degree In BUK, Barau, Adeshina Gets Doctorate Degree

The Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano,Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas says during 38th Convocation, Scheduled to begins from the 27 February 180 Students will be Graduating with First Class Honors.

Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas disclosed this while briefing the media on the preparations of the forthcoming Convocation.

He said during the Conversation 370 post graduate students are Graduating with PhDs and 3, 770 are going out with Masters Degree.

The Vice Chancellor noted that this year the university is introducing a Stagart Convocation as a means to ensure that every Student feel the impact of his Graduation.

He maintained that this year the university is graduating a total of 11,284 Students that cut across different Faculties,and Departments.

Professor Sagir Adamu, explained that the university will award a Honorary Doctorate Degrees Awards to the Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and the President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adeshina to Compliment their efforts in supporting their community and the Nation at large.

The Vice Chancellor maintained that African business mogul Aliko Dangote would deliver a Lecture with a title, the Role of Private Sector in Building a Sustainable Economic in Nigeria.

“We are Beginning the Convocation with 6 Faculties, of Agriculture 307, Art And Islamic Studies, Education, Law and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and this year Convocation would be done with a pampered”.

Professor Sagir hints that the University is currently having 379 Professors Teaching in BUK, With 18 Faculties, 16 Research Centers.

He noted that the university had a Breakthrough in researches in the sex of dates seed, which have increases the farming capacity of the diet’s in Jigawa State from 45 percent to almost 80 percent.

“We also recorded a breakthrough in the E-Motive at the Centre of Excellence, Africa Centre of Excellence – Population and Policies, ACE-PAP. It saved 60 per cent maternal mortality “

BUK now ranked 5th in Nigeria based on ranking body based in UK. It ranked fifth after Convenant University, University of Ibadan, University of Lagos and Ekiti, all based in South West. So, by this, BUK is leading in 5 other region, South East, South South, North West, North East and North Central.
