Federal Lawmaker launches empowerment programme; donates 110 buses to Constituents in Borno

The Senator representing Borno North, Senator Mohammed Monguno has donated one hundred and ten mini-pick up vehicles to internally displaced persons and other vulnerable people from his senatorial district. 

The empowerment initiative is coming at a time when Nigerians are facing harsh economic challenges amidst rising costs of food prices and other essential commodities.  

Unveiling the vehicles at the Government House in Maiduguri, Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum underscored the need to have good transportation system for conveying goods and services, adding that, the gesture would go along way in alleviating the sufferings of the beneficiaries and make them self- reliant.

“Let me use this opportunity to call upon other lawmakers to emulate MT Monguno’s good gestures, as it will serve as palliatives directly or indirectly to his constituents.” Zulum said.

He commended Senator Monguno for supporting people of his constituency through provision of agricultural inputs, laptops to enhanced digital literacy amongst students of Northern Borno, sewing machines, provision of teaching materials, cash donations, drilling of boreholes, training and retraining of Youths and women. 

“I want to commend Senator MT Monguno for his people- oriented projects to people of his constituency. Since when he (The Senator) was a member House of Representatives, he has impacted positively on the lives of his people, and I reiterate that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, my humble self and the people of Northern Borno are proud of MT Monguno who have since key into the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of the federal government.

Senator Mohammed Monguno who is also the Chairman Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, pledged to continue to give his maximum support in alleviating the economic challenges faced by his people as peace have significantly returned.

He commended Governor Zulum, security agencies and all stakeholders who have worked tirelessly towards restoring peace leading to resettlement of most of the IDPs from the zone back to their ancestral homes.
