By Abdullahi Jalalludeen

The Member representing Bichi Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Appropriations, Rep. Abubakar Kabir Bichi, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano North is targeting at least one million votes for the party in the 2027 general elections.

Bichi stated this on Monday at a stakeholders’ meeting of the APC Campaign Council, Bichi Chapter, held in Bichi, Kano State.

He said the meeting was convened to discuss potential challenges ahead of the 2027 elections and strategies to secure victory for the party across the state.

“We are not just talking about Bichi or Kano North; we are talking about the whole 44 local government areas. We are talking about the whole of Kano, and we will get what we want,” he said.

The lawmaker disclosed that Kano North had approximately 1.3 million registered voters, adding that the zone was targeting at least one million votes for the APC.

According to him, the party aims to secure more votes in Kano North, which comprises 13 local government areas, than Kano Central, which traditionally records a high number of votes in the state.

Bichi urged the people of Kano to support the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing developmental projects and interventions by the Federal Government as reasons for the party’s appeal.

“We believe that APC and President Tinubu deserve our votes because he has done a lot of development projects for our people,” he said.

The meeting was attended by APC leaders and stakeholders, including Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Murtala Sule Garo, and former Minister of Housing, Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo.
