ALGON pledged to ensure the of provisions of basic health care service delivery, education and water.

The National Executive Council NEC of Association of Local Government of Nigeria ALGON has called for collaborative effort with State Governments to strengthening Primary Health Care Service delivery, Basic Education, Water, Rural Development and other critical Infrastructures, accross the country.

This is contained in a communique signed and signed to newsmen by the ALGON Chairman of Gombe Barrister Sani Ahmed Haruna and ALGON Chairman of Ogun State Emiola Gazal at the end of the forty eight National Executive Council Meeting of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria ALGON held in lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital.

The Communique says the Local Government Councils would also collaborate with critical stakeholders, security agencies to address the issues of insecurity and other social vices at the grassroots level for meaningful development and youths empowerment.

“The National Executive Council NEC, Board of Trustees BOT and the National Secretariat wishes to express gratitude to Governor of Nasarawa State Abdullahi Sule, the entire members of the State Executive Council, the Traditional Council ably chaired by the Emir of Lafia, Justice Side Bage Mohammed I Rtd, and the people of Nasarawa state for the warm hospitality during the three days historic Council meeting.”

“NEC expresses its gratitude to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Commander of the Armed Forces, Members of the Nigeria Governors Forum NGF, Judiciary, National Assembly, Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Critical Stakeholders, Media, the civil society organisations and the entire leadership of our local communities, the public for this historic Supreme Court Judgment which granted Autonomy to the Local Governments.”

The National Executive Council NEC advice members, all Council Chairmen across the Country to be well guided in terms of information to promote a harmonious relationship between the Tiers and Arms of Governments in line with global best practices as exemplified by the United Cities and Local Governments UCLG in rendering the dividends of Democracy and service to the rural populace.

It’s says the NEC unanimously, agreed that the outstanding membership dues and subscriptions owed by many State Chapters are to be deducted through the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee FAAC of the Federal Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Budget and National Planning to fund the critical financial activities of the National Secretariat.

The Communique announced the appointment of the new National Legal Adviser to the ALGON as a member of the EXCO Barrister Sani Ahmad Haruna and express confidence in his capacity to serve.

The National Executive Council NEC expresses it’s appreciation to all nigerians especially those living within the local communities for their resilience, trust, hope and prayers with promise not to take their support for granted by intensifying efforts to offer more responsive and responsible leadership as widely anticipated.
