Bauchi Govt Cautions NGOs Against Duplication of Activities.

Bauchi State Government has urged Non-Governmental Organizations working in the state, to make proper documentation with relevant Ministries Department and Agencies to avoid duplication of activities.    

The State Commissioner of Health, Dr Aliyu Maigoro made the call at the 2021 First Quarter Forum Meeting, convened by the Ministry, with support from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Clinton Health Access Initiative COVID 19 T.A. Support Grant.

Dr. Maigoro said NGOs proper documentation would give the ministry a clear view of what they do and allow it make impute for health benefit of people in the state.

On his part the Executive Chairman of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Rilwanu Mohammed who said the long over due of the meeting was as a result of Covid 19 resurgence, noted that development partners and NGOs were contributing immensely in the state’s health sector.

Dr. Mohammed explained that the state government in appreciation of the partners’ effort, last year injected over three hundred million Naira into the Health Basket Fund as counterpart fund to Bill and Melinda Gates and Aliko Dangote Foundations’ interventions in the sector.     

The Co-convener of the meeting and the state Lead Consultant of BMGF/CHAI Covid 19 T.A Support Grant, Dr Sulaiman Muhammad Lawal said the aim of the meeting was to bring together all partners and NGOs working in the state’s health sector to brainstorm and come up with new ideas that would develop the sector.         

He commended the state government. Partners and NGOs for their prompt response, which according to him makes the meeting a successful one.
