Bauchi Gov’t Press Crew Holds Retreat, Assures Professionalism in Reportage

In an effort to ensure professionalism in propagating policies and programmes of Bauchi State Government, members of the State Government House Press Crew have undergone a Three-Day Treat on the emerging trends in media practice.

The retreat with a theme Press Crew Members and Tasks of Effective Coverage of Government Policies and Programmes in the emerging challenges of 21st Century Journalism was informed by the state government’s determination to improve capacity of the Press Crew.

Declaring the retreat open at Jos, the Plateau State Capital Governor Bala Mohammed said postering a better collaboration between government and media in the state remained the commitment of his administration.

Bala Mohammed who was represented by the commissioner ministry of information and communication comrade Usman Danturaki expressed commitment to not only the welfare of working journalists but encouraging productivity.

In his remark, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity Comrade Muktar Gidado who urged the participants to take full advantage of the opportunity provided them commended Governor Bala Mohammed for approving the retreat.

In their Goodwill Messages, the Director Press and Public Affairs of Plateau State Governor Mr. Gyang Bere and representative of the State Chairperson of Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Mr. Pam Musa while describing the initiative as apt called on others to emulate.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Chairman of the Press Crew John Habila Mure of Bauchi State Television Authority BATV assured to used the knowledge acquired in a manner that would add value to their daily reportage.
