The Nigeria Customs Service, Adamawa/Taraba Command has confiscated nineteen 19 seizures of assorted items with Duty Paid Value of thirteen million seven Hundred and fourty nine thousand,one hundred and ten naira (N13,749,110.35).

The items intercepted by Customs include;19 cartoons of foreign insecticide,26×50kg bags of foreign parboiled rice and 15,449 litres of Premium Motor Spirit packed in 17×200L drums,475×25L and 6×35L Jerry cans.

Addressing Newsmen at the Customs Zonal Command in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, the Comptroller of Customs , Suleiman Abdullahi said the success recorded was through intelligence report where officers of the Command were repositioned at the territorial boaders faced a fierce battle with the smugglers before overpowering them.

The raw donkey skin earlier confiscated by the enforcement units on 1st September 2023 at Sahuda, Nigeria -Cameroun boarder was equally destroyed in the presence of Officers of Nigerian Agricultural quarantine Services and in accordance with schedule no.15 of Nigeria Service Act,2023.

Suleiman Abdullahi who vowed to clampdown on smugglers implored all patriotic Nigerians , Stakeholders and all the relevant Security agencies to foster collaboration with Customs in the battle against the menace of smuggling.

The Comptroller further encouraged the Officers and Men of the Command to sustain the tempo so as to safeguard the country’s economy at the border areas.
