The Nigerian Red Cross Society, Adamawa state Branch elects New Executives

The Nigerian Red Cross Society, NRCS, Adamawa state Branch has conducted its Board of Governance Elections with a call on the Executives to improve on the gains of the previous administration.

The election of Executives who were unanimously elected for a four year term held at the Specialist Hospital Yola.

Those elected are Barrister Nafisatu Bala as the chairperson, Thomas Ayuba, Vice Chairman, Alhadi Abba Tahir legal adviser and Engr Ari Lutu, Finance and Resources Management Adviser, Jika Abdulhamid Disaster Management Adviser while program planning adviser is Yohanna Hamman Yero Habila.

Muhammed A Salihu emerged as Health Care adviser, Ahmed Tijjani Maksha as Finance resources Mobilization Adviser, while Ahmed Babale is the Youth, Gender and Volunteer Adviser.

Others are Victoria Taduwukai as Division Development Adviser, Ibrahim Musa Labaran, Capacity Development Adviser while Communication and Advocacy Adviser is Usman Suleman Pallam.

Administering the oath of office, Magistrate Aminu Abdulkadir charged the Board to discharge their duties according to the principles of the Nigerian Red Cross Society.

In her address, Chairperson of the Nigeria Red Cross Society in Adamawa state, Barrister Nafisa Bala who was re-elected for a second term, appreciated the branch for the confidence reposed in her and pledged to continue to offer service for the good of humanity, while thanking the International Committee of the Red Cross, ICRC for its support to the branch.

National President of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga commended the Adamawa state branch of NRCS for humanitarian activities rendered to the public and urged the new Board of Governance to consolidate on the gains of the past Exco.

Represented by Emmanuel Nworie, Adeaga called on youths as active members of society, to join the Red Cross to make the society a better place.

Earlier, Adamawa Branch Secretary, Shuaibu Dauda pointed out that the Red Cross in Adamawa which has over ten thousand registered members and volunteers has successfully carried out trainings, sensitization programmes, interventions for IDPs, campaigns on hygiene promotion, Sexual and Gender Based Violence and Mental Health, as well as food assistance, among others.

In their separate goodwill messages, representatives of the ICRC, National and State Emergency Management Agency, Security agency, as well as The District Head of Nasarawo Abba, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar Mustapha all appreciated the branch for it’s unrelenting service to humanity, and expressed commitment to strengthen partnership with the branch to alleviate human suffering, protect life and health, and uphold human dignity in Adamawa State.
