The Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi, has expressed delight with ongoing efforts by the federal government to fully revive transmission at Radio Nigeria Kaduna.

He gave the commendation when he received on homage the management of Radio Nigeria Horizon FM, Dutse, led by its station’s General Manager, Dr Musa Idris Barnawa.

The Emir who described Radio Nigeria Kaduna as the frontline Radio Station in the northern part of the country, recalled that the station has played a key role in uniting the people of the region and educating them on key issues.

While regretting that the emergence of private radio stations has affected the station’s listenership over the years, the Emir commended the station’s management led by the Director General, Kaduna Zonal Director and the Minister of Information to restore the station’s glory.

He urged the federal government to address challenges bedeviling the station such as poor funding, break in transmission due to power outage and other factors that affect the station’s operations.

While thanking the management of Horizon FM Dutse, the Emir said his doors will remain open to the FRCN family in matters that require mutual cooperation between the Emirate and the corporation.

He pledged the Emirate’s readiness to continue to support the station in areas such as sponsorship of Tafseer and other programs that will be beneficial to the people of the Emirate and the state as a whole.

Earlier, the General Manager of Horizon FM, Dr Musa Idris Barnawa said the delegation was at the palace to reassure the Emir of the station’s loyalty and readiness to partner the Emirate in areas that will bring about sustainable development of the state.

The General Manager extended goodwill messages by the Director General of FRCN, Dr. Muhammad Bulama, and the Zonal Director of Kaduna National Station of the corporation, Malam Buhari Awwalu, on the first year Anniversary of the Emir.

He recalled that Horizon FM ran a live transmission of the turbanning ceremony of the Emir, and a special audio documentary on the Emir’s profile, legacy and contributions to his people.

Dr Idris Barnawa said Horizon FM will run Ramadan Tafseer from the Emir’s palace on a fifty percent discount, and will continue to inform, educate and enlighten people of the Emirate on issues that will promote peace and development.
