Emir Of Fika Organizes Reception, Honor Journalists in Yobe

His Royal Highness, the Emir of Fika, and Chairman Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Dr Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrisa, has commended all journalist in Yobe State for the remarkable achievements recorded in the State despite the disruption of peace by the over a decade insurgency.

The Emir made the commendation during a warm reception organised to honor all working journalist in the State.

Emphasizing on the critical and remarkable roles played by journalist, the royal father urged the newsmen to be critical of government activities and all happenings.

” you have operated under a very dangerous condition and we appreciate your courage and sustainability of reportage.”

He called on the journalist to be fair, equitable and redouble all efforts to move the state forward.

“I implore you to redouble your efforts, be equitable, be fair and avoid praising Government, when it is time to say the truth, say it without any fear.”

On the destruction caused as a result of insurgency, the monarch appreciated the courage and sustainability of reportage of all happenings.

He charged them to report the sufferings of the people to government and the need for more development at the grassroot.

“last few days we went to Gurjiyaje and saw a village that was destroyed along the road, there is a need for more development efforts by the government. we are living on a time bomb and when it explodes we are all going to suffer.” he explained.

Earlier the Chairman of the Correspondents Chapel Ahmed Isa Abba a staff of News Agency Of Nigeria (NAN) appreciated the Emir for his commitment, and assures the support of all journalist to the palace and the state at large.

“Your Highness, I want to assure you of our support to the palace and the entire State, we’re here to serve the State and we shall sacrifice all we have for the state.

He sympathized with the Palace over the recent attack which happened in Fika LGA (Gurjaji) and the outbreak of a variant Meningitis which claimed the lives of about 20 boarding schools children, under the Emirate.
