EU/KNSG Ties Educational Bond, Conducts First EU Study Fair In Kano

The Kano state government has reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with European countries in the development of education.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf Disclosed this during the opening ceremony of the first Study in Europe fair ,in Africa which took place at the Afficent Event Center Kano.

Represented by his Deputy Alhaji Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo said the EU study Fair was very timely especially with the commitment of his administration to the development of the educational sector.

He said the choice of Kano to conduct the fair was commendable due to its population and commitment to youths development.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf Noted that Kano State was facing a lot of challenges in the educational sector when it came on board due to negligence by the immediate past administration.

He maintained that modalities have been put in place to get out off school children back to schools, especially with the statistics at hand which reveals that Kano has about one million out of school children.

” to avail these challenges my administration has embarked on re-boarding all the de-boarded secondary schools , as well as providing all the needed infrastructure and working materials , aimed at uplifting the standard of Education “

The Governor noted that Kano state government would not relent in ensuring that these opportunities were being explored maximally.

Earlier European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS Samuela Isopi Said the study in Europe Fair was the first of its Kind in Nigeria.

” we choose Kano to conduct the first study in Fair because it is the most populous and melting point of different cultures and tradition “

The Ambassador maintained that the collaboration will avail more opportunities for Nigerians especially students from the Northern part of the country to gain admissions and scholarship in European Higher institutions .
