FG To Establish National Orthopedic Hospital In Bauchi State

Bauchi State government says plans are underway to establish a National Orthopedic Hospital in the state with a view to offering accessible healthcare service to the people.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Adamu Sambo made this known in Bauchi at the inauguration of Board members of Agencies under the ministry.

Dr Sambo said government was considering relocating one of its tertiary health facilities to a befitting place to pave the way for successful take off of the new Orthopedic Hospital to be sited there.

He said this was part of the Governor’s commitment in collaboration with the federal government to ensure accessible and affordable healthcare service for all the people of the state.

According to the Commissioner the state government was commiting huge amount of money to revive the lost glory of the healthcare system the state was grappling with.

In a remark, the Executive Chairman of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Rilwanu Mohammed urged board members to always discharge their responsibility in congruence with the law.

The Agency who has their Board members Inaugurated include, Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, State Health Contributory Management Agency, Hospital Management Board, State Specialist Hospital, Bauchi State Health Trust Fund, Drugs and Medical Consumable Agency among others.
