FULANI PASTORALIST GROUP ADVOCATE FOR PEACE BUILDING BETWEEN FARMERS AND HEADERS.

A Fulani Pastoralists Group in Gombe State known as Pulaku has met and reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace building among Fulani groups in the Six States of the North East Region.

The meeting was held at the Dukku LGA area of Gombe State where leaders of the Fulani Groups, Security Operatives, and Traditional Leaders agreed to work together in harmony to achieve long-lasting peace in the North East Region.

Speaking during the meeting, the Public relations officer of the Pastoralist group Alhaji Haruna Dila said the group is embarking on a sensitization visit to all the local government areas on how to resolve any pending issues amicably without taking arms or through violence.

Haruna Dila said that the decision will become an instruction that will be communicated to every member of the group including those at the grassroots.

The Pastoralists group also announced that a ban has been placed on night grazing and unnecessary display of cutlasses, axes and other dangerous weapons by headers coming inside the town for their activities during the day time.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Dukku Local Government Area, Alhaji Jamilu Haruna Shabewa said the peacebuilding aims to find lasting solutions to bedeviling farmers headers crises in the northeast region.

Jamilu Shabewa said headers should allow proper harvest of farm produce by farmers before grazing on the farmlands.
