Usman says, President Bola Tinubu’s 63 Independence address, has never
address the issues of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Nigeria masses.
The Chairman who was speaking to Radio Nigeria in Birnin Kebbi while
reacting to the President broadcast on Nigeria’s 63 Independence, said the
Present speech has nothing tangible to carry home about saying, it was same
speech past Presidents normally said.
Comrade Usman said, the issue of selecting certain category of workers to be giving N25 000 was unfair as all Nigerians are suffering from the fuel subsidy removal impact.
On the issue of palliatives in Kebbi State, the NLC Chairman revealed that,
the organised Labour had met with the State Governor and promised to
provide the palliatives as soon as possible to cushion the effects of fuel
subsidy removal to the citizens.
According to him, Governor Idris, had promised to implement the N30,000 Mínimum wage to civil servants so as to cushion the effects of poverty as civil servants collect old rate of salary.
Comrade Usman, said the state NLC was set to embark on the nation wide
strike and therefore called on the people of the state to support the union
on its fight for the right of Nigerians.
