Nigerian Legions Receives More than Sixty Million Cash Donation in Sokoto State

About sixty million naira was realized during a fund raising ceremony of the
Nigerian Legions, Sokoto state chapter

Speaking at the ceremony, which was part of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto state solicited for more support and donations to better the lives of the fallen heroes families’ and the retired men in the country.

He noted that the men have sacrificed their lives for the country’s unity and peaceful coexistence.

He said the legends deserved to be honoured through continuous support and assistance for sustainable development.

He assured his administration’s continuous support to security agencies with a view to boosting their morales for socio-security and economic development of the country

Earlier, the general officer Commanding eight Division Nigerian Army Major general Godwin Mutkut commended the state government for the support and cooperations enjoyed by the eight division in the state and thanked those that donated to the fallen heroes families and the retired military men in the state.

Major general Godwin Mutkut renewed the Nigerian Army commitment to protecting lives and property within the eight division enclave for sustainable development.

Responding the Chairman of the Nigerian Legends Sokoto state Chapter Alh. Aliyu Danchadi said the Armed Forces Remembrance day was set aside to pay tribute to the heroes who paid the ultimate price to fight for the unity and stability of the country.

Danchadi commended state government and individuals for their support to the families of fallen heroes and living war veterans and appealed for continues donation towards improving the welfare of the legion.
