The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Birnin Kebbi has affirmed the victory of Senator Garba Musa Maidoki of the PDP from Kebbi South Senatorial District.

Senator Bala Ibn Na’allah of the APC had dragged Maidoki to the Election Tribunal challenging his emergence as the winner in the last February polls on the grounds of electoral malpractices.

The Chairman of the Tribunal Justice Adeyemi Ajogebi while delivering judgement described the ground of the petition as weak, unsubstantiated and above all lack credible proofs that will warrant the court to reverse the outcome of the election.

While addressing newsmen shortly after the Judgement, Defence Counsel, Barrister Aminu Hassan, said democracy has been strengthened by the action of the Tribunal saying, the electorates will continue to have confidence in the judiciary as the last hope of the common man In the same vein a political ally to Senator Maidoki, Barrister Sani Danyaro, said the legal victory will heighten the spirit of the Legislator in the discharge of his responsibilities at the National Assembly.

Danyaro however appealed, called on the people of Kebbi South to support Senator Maidoki with prayers and pieces of advice on how best the Senatorial District will be taken to higher heights of development.
