Bauchi State Stakeholders’ Forum for the aged has called on the state government to create a special center for its registered members to enable them have sense of belongings.
Co-vice chair of the Forum Hajiya Habiba Usman Sa’ad made the appeal while answering questions from newsmen during a sensitization talks to the aged at FOMWAN Health Facility, Tafawa Balewa Housing, Bauchi.
Hajiya Habiba Usman Sa’ad who is also the Amirah Federation of Muslims Women Association of Nigeria FOMWAN said the center when established would help in addressing problems of the aged persons who are mostly vulnerable.
She said the aim of organizing the talks was to enlighten the aged persons on the type of food they should consume and the exercise they were supposed to engage in for them to remain healthy.
The co-vice chair of the Forum explained that health personnel have been engaged to speak to the aged persons on how to improve their health status.
Also speaking, one of the health personnel Aliyu Muhammad Lawan stressed the need for the aged persons to inculcate the habit of regular exercise and take balance diet regularly.
Aliyu Muhammad Lawan who is also the deputy officer in charge of the FOMWAN Facility assured their readiness to render humanitarian services to mankind.
One of the participants spoken to, Malama Aishatu Isa who commended the Forum for organizing the talks pledged to use the knowledge acquired to improve her condition of health.
Malama Aishatu Isa called on other critical stakeholders to key into initiatives that would improve the health and economic conditions of the aged persons to become productive.
