Executive Secretary Bauchi State Contributory Pension Commission Malam Ibrahim Inuwa has embarked on aggressive awareness campaign towards successful take off of the scheme in the State.
Malam Ibrahim Inuwa who was speaking during a press conference in his office on the measures put in place for the take off said Governor Bala Muhammad is committed towards full implementation of the scheme in the State which is transparent and result oriented.
“the scheme if fully implemented will address problems of pension liabilities owned pensioners after retirement as every employee has to apply for his benefits from his pension administrators”. Malam Ibrahim Inuwa said.
The Executive Secretary said the new pension scheme is intended to address problems of the old system of the defined benefits because employees will know how much is their contributions whenever they want to know.
He explained that the pension scheme has National Pension Commission, Pension Funds Custodians, Pension Funds Administrators, Employers and the Employees as critical stakeholders.
According to Malam Ibrahim Inuwa the Commission would not function without any one of the stakeholders hence the need for all Ministries, Departments and Agencies to key into the scheme for effective management.
He said the scheme is expected to commence full operation between April or May this year as 18 out of 28 states that have keyed into the scheme have commenced implementation and Bauchi would not be left behind.
He used the forum to commend Governor Bala Muhammad for the support and the zeal to ensure smooth take off of the scheme in the State.
