Former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator representing Zamfara West, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, has expressed deep sorrow over the killing of ten Community Protection Guard members in Anka Local Government Area.
Describing the incident as a major setback in the fight against banditry, Senator Yari lamented the loss of the brave men who sacrificed their lives to protect their communities from terrorists.
In a statement issued by his Chairman, Publicity Committee, Ibrahim Muhammad, Yari acknowledged the federal government’s ongoing efforts to combat insurgency in Zamfara, the Northwest, and across Nigeria.
He noted that these efforts have led to a significant decline in attacks and expressed hope for the resumption of agricultural activities in previously abandoned areas.
He urged the families of the deceased to accept the tragedy as Allah’s will and to continue praying for the departed souls to rest in Jannatul Firdausi.
Senator Yari also reaffirmed the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to eliminating criminal activities and ensuring the safety of all law-abiding Nigerians.
He called on citizens to intensify their prayers, especially during this holy month of Ramadan, for lasting peace and stability in Zamfara and the nation.
