The Gombe State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, announcing significant successes in its fight against crime and social vices.
According to a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Buhari Abdullahi, the police recently arrested eight suspects, rescued a kidnapped victim, and recovered 19 live rounds of ammunition, among other exhibits.
Among those arrested is Hannatu Ibrahim, 28, of Kumo in Akko Local Government Area, along with Ahmed Adamu and Abubakar Ibrahim, in connection with theft and arson. Police acted on a distress call from the Gombe Division and arrested Hannatu Ibrahim, recovering $7,100 in her possession.
In another operation, the command apprehended Abdu Manu of Lamba Village and Babangida Mohammed of Garin Modibbo Village, both in Kumo, Akko LGA.
Additionally, the Divisional Police Officer of Billiri reported that on March 18, unknown persons barricaded the Filiya-Billiri road with logs and robbed motorists. Following a manhunt, a joint team of police officers and local hunters from Futuk Village in Alkaleri LGA, Bauchi State, arrested the suspects, who later confessed to multiple armed robberies, including the incident on Filiya-Billiri road.
The police command assured the public of continued efforts to maintain security and urged residents to report any suspicious activities.
