NOA: Yobe Director Holds Maiden Meeting with COMOs to Strengthen Community Engagement, Public Health Awareness

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) Yobe State Directorate, under the leadership of Alhaji Muhammed Ali Tikau, has convened its maiden meeting with Community Orientation and Mobilization Officers (COMOs) from all 17 Local Government Areas of the state,

This was contained in a statement signed and made available to Radio Nigeria Sunshine FM Yobe, by the Public Relations Officer of the State Directorate, Sabiu sule Maikwano.

According to the statement, the meeting, held in Damaturu, aimed to reawaken and motivate staff to intensify their efforts in promoting government policies, programmes, and activities at all levels.

It also served as a platform to strategize on addressing pressing public health concerns and fostering community engagement across the state.

The State Director tasked COMOs with sensitizing communities on the importance of staying hydrated as heatwaves intensify, emphasizing the need for proactive measures to safeguard public health during extreme weather conditions.

Speaking on Health Campaigns on Cerebrospinal Meningitis (CSM) Mr Tikau stressed the urgency of intensifying sensitization campaigns on preventive measures to avert CSM outbreaks.

He further urged staff to prioritize educating communities on public health challenges and the importance of early detection and prevention.

The statement indicates that the initiative reflects the Agency’s unwavering commitment to proactive community engagement and public health awareness in Yobe State.

Tikau added that NOA remains dedicated to its mandate of enlightening citizens and fostering a healthier, more informed society.
