The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has concluded arrangements for the hosting of one of the largest gatherings of banking and finance professionals in the United Kingdom.
The 3-day event tagged CIBN 2025 London International Banking and Finance Conference, is organised in collaboration with its United Kingdom Branch.
A statement from the Institute indicates that the Conference, which is scheduled to hold at the Hilton London Canary Wharf, United Kingdom, is themed: “Enhancing Forex Liquidity Through Export Diversification: The Role of the Banking Sector.
The statement says the theme of the conference underscores the critical need to focus on export diversification and highlights how the banking sector can play a strategic role in boosting foreign exchange inflows, reducing over-reliance on oil revenues, and securing a sustainable economic future.
It notes that the event provides a platform for policymakers, regulators, operators, service providers, academics, and clients in the financial services industry to share experiences, exchange ideas, and proffer insights on contemporary issues affecting the sector and the broader economy.
According to the statement, the 3-day event will feature sessions on Cyber, Digital Risks and Opportunities in Banking, The Role of the Banking & Finance Sector in Financing Export-Oriented Industries, a guided sightseeing tour of key financial sectors in London among others.
The statement list dignitaries expected at the occasion to include Governors of Lagos, Cross Rivers States Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Senator Bassey Edet Otu, Central Bank Governor Mr. Yemi Cardoso, Managing Director/CEO, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation Mr. Hassan Bello and many others.
Others according to the statement include Executive Director/CEO, Nigerian Export Promotion Council Mrs. Nonye Ayeni, Immediate Past President, CIBN & Executive Director, Fidelity Bank Plc Dr. Ken Opara, and MD/CEO, Moniepoint Microfinance Bank Ltd Mr. Babatunde Olofin as Guest Speakers.
