Barau Jibril’s Foundation Offers Scholarships to 300 Students

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibril’s Foundation, has offered scholarships to 300 students to study in Nigerian universities.

The scholarship program is aimed at enhancing educational development and promoting higher education in the country.

During a ceremony to mark the scholarship offer, the Pro-Chancellor of Al-Istikama University, Professor Mohammad Ibn Abdullah, lauded Senator Barau Jibril for his initiative, saying it would go a long way in enhancing educational development.

The Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University Kano, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, also commended the Senator’s foundation for its commitment to uplifting higher education in the state.

Professor Abbas described the scholarship program as a noble intervention that would transform education in the state.

He said, “By training these students, it simply means you are preparing future leaders.” He urged the beneficiaries to use the opportunity to achieve their stated goals.

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibril, thanked Bayero University for hosting the screening exercise, saying the university’s leadership has been a role model in educational development.

He explained that the essence of the scholarship program was to build a sound and effective educational system in the country.

Senator Barau Jibril emphasized the importance of fairness and credibility in the selection process, saying, “I don’t know anyone of you here. I want this program to be based on credibility, and I wish you good luck.”

“We started this scholarship with sponsoring students overseas, and we expect them to come back and contribute their own input in the development of our dear state and the nation,” Senator Barau Jibril said.

“We want this screening to be fair and just without any form of partiality or favor,” he added.

The scholarship program is a testament to Senator Barau Jibril’s commitment to promoting education and developing human capital in Nigeria.
