BAUCHI STATE GOVERNMENT SEEKS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF FARMERS HERDSMEN BOARD.

A bill to establish the Bauchi State Farmers and Herdsmen Board has scaled first reading at the Bauchi State House of Assembly.

The bill read by the Majority Leader Sale Hodi Jibir during plenary presided over by the Deputy Speaker Jamilu Umaru Dahiru.

Sale Hodi read that the bill would enable government to provide power and maintain grazing reserves, road reserves, stock routes, watering points as well as managing and prevent conflicts between farmers and Herdsmen in the state.

Still during the plenary, the house urged government to repair the electricity of some villages along Bauchi Maiduguri Road in Ganjuwa local government area.

This is contained in a motion moved by member representing Ganjuwa East Dayyabu Ladan Mohammad noted that power supply played a vital role towards booting economic development of rural communities.

The lawmaker explained that the areas especially from Yuli to Marga Village have long been in darkness for about six years as the result of Electrical damage in the area.
