KMT Embarks On Community Development Services in Yobe

The residents of Rugan Fulani and Dubai-One Community in the Potiskum Local Government Area of Yobe State have expressed joy over Kashim Musa Tumsah’s (KMT) intervention in constructing a pedestrian bridge in the community.

Chairman of the Committee on Community Development Services, Abubakar Abba, said the residents of Rugan Fulani and Dubai-One communities faced difficulties due to severe erosion that destabilized the road structure, leading to a potential collapse, especially during the rainy season.

He explained that before Kashim Tumsah’s intervention, community members used to contribute money annually to construct a locally made culvert in a place dug up by erosion, providing access to the road.

Abubakar Abba urged the state and local governments to consider the area by initiating developmental projects to address the challenges facing the community.

He further appealed to other well-meaning individuals to emulate Kashim Musa Tumsah by extending their helping hands to the area.

The Village Head of the community, Hussaini Garba, commended the philanthropist for the intervention, stating that the project came at a time when it was needed most in the area.

He added that last year, three children from the same parents lost their lives on their way back from school, forcing other parents and caregivers to suspend their children’s education during the rainy season.

Speaking at the event, Kashim Musa Tumsah, represented by the project committee chairman, Hassan Joda, said he embarked on the project following a complaint by residents about their living conditions.

Musa Tumsah, a seasoned lawyer and accomplished diplomat, reassured his commitment to participating in community development services across Yobe State.
