Yobe State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to support grassroots farmers with vital agricultural inputs.

The State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Ali Mustapha Goniri, made the commitment during an inspection tour of key Fadama farming sites in Fune and Fika Local Government Areas.

Some of the areas visited by the Commissioner include Zoto and Mamudo in Fune Local Government, as well as Tinja Bazam, Gadana, Garin Wayo, and Ngalda in Fika Local Government Areas.

During the visit, Ali Goniri expressed satisfaction with the enthusiasm and readiness of youth farmers to contribute to food production, stressing that the initiative aims to empower local farmers directly on their farmlands.

Furthermore, Goniri revealed that the Yobe State Government, led by Governor Mai Mala Buni, has procured critical farming inputs, including solar-powered water pumps, certified seeds, and fertilizers.

While at Tinja Bazam, the Commissioner further visited the Emir of Gudi, Alhaji Isa Bunuwo Madubu Ibn Khahaji, in his palace, where he sought the Emir’s blessings.

The Royal Father commended Governor Buni’s agricultural initiatives and assured continued support towards ensuring the success of the programme.
