Security Expert Urges FG to Adopt New Strategy to Combat Banditry, Kidnapping.

The Chief Security Adviser to the Bauchi State Governor , Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Ahmad Abdullrahman has urged government to focus more on non-kinatic approach towards addressing the current insecurity in some parts of the country.

He suggested that the non-kinatic approach is the only way to effectively tackle the insurgency, banditry and kidnapping bedevelling the country, particularly the north east.

Speaking with our Reporter in Bauchi, Retired AIG Ahmad Abdullrahman advocated a law to criminalises Ransom, in a bid to make kidnapping a high risk and less profit.

The Security Adviser also stressed the need for the establishment of a Special Court to try bandits and kidnappers.

AIG Ahmad Abdullrahman said when established, the Court are to deliver judgement within twenty one days and one week for appeals, noting that the process would reduce the rate of criminality and help in quick dispensation of justice.

The Chief Security Adviser said Bauchi State government has already restrategised it’s approach to the security situation following the recent killing of over twenty vigilantes by armed men in Alkaleri Local Government Area with a view to saving the lives and property of the citizens.

Ahmad Abdullrahman commended the State Governor, Bala Muhammad for his commitment and support to security agencies and called on people to join hands towards maintaining the relative peace in the state.
