The North east development commission NEDC has presented relief items to vulnerable groups and those affected by winds in Adamawa state.
During the symbolic presentation event which took place in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, the Assistant General Manager , Logistic and Stabilization of the commission, Lawan Hamidu stated that the commission believe that humanitarian work is not just about delivering goods, rather restoring dignity and inspiring hope amongst others.
The Assistant General Manager, Lawan Hamidu, explained that the North East development commission NEDC always ensure that the most vulnerable in the society are seen, heard and supported as well.
“in recent weeks, we have witnessed the devastating effects of the wind storm that swept through parts of Adamawa State. Homes are damaged, lively hoods disrupted and many families left in distress “
Lawan Hamidu noted that people living in the affected areas, especially the vulnerable ones were badly affected, hence the need for the commission to come to their aid.
He therefore appealed to them to accept the support as a commitment by the commision.
Earlier in her welcome address, the acting state coordinator, Hajiya Fatima Bakari highlighted that the North east development commission has recorded significant achievements in areas of infrastructural development, Agricultural and health in Adamawa state.

Representatives of CAN Adamawa state, Victor Sajoh and Chairman , National Association of People with disabilities Adamawa state chapter, Abdullah Toung and Muslim council appreciated the North east development commission for their numerous interventions especially in times of difficulties.
“you’re always been consistent in reaching up to us, there’s not been any distribution you’ve done that you’ve never called us”
Food items distributed included 3300 cartons of noodles, 2100 cartons of Spaghetti and over 16,000 gallons of cooking oil.
