In a heartwarming development during this year’s Hajj, three Nigerian pilgrims have been commended for their honesty after returning two lost purses one belonging to a Nigerian pilgrim, the other to an Egyptian.

The Deputy Coordinator of Makkah Operations, Mr. Alidu Shutti, presented the honest pilgrims to the Commissioner of Operations, Prince Anofi’u Elegushi, after they voluntarily returned the separate purses containing cash.

In one case, Alhaji Bello Shu’aibu Ajani, from Ede Local Government Area of Osun State, found a purse containing 200 Saudi Riyals about 53 US dollars.

He handed it over to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria through the Special Assistant to the Oyo State Government on Islamic Affairs Imam Abdrasheed Abdul Azeez.

In another incident, Alhaji Isiaka Eniola Olaosun from Kwara State and Alhaji Bakare Momodu from Edo State found a lost purse and immediately contacted NAHCON officials.

All three were formally presented to the Commissioner Prince Anofi’u Elegushi, who praised them as true Ambassadors of Nigeria.

He prayed for their continued happiness saying their actions will surely bring joy to the rightful owners.

These stories of honesty and integrity are setting a shining example for others and bringing pride to the Nigerian contingent in Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
