Hajj 2025: Pilgrims Urged to Take Precautions as Hajj Temperatures May Hit 47°C

By Mubarak Mahmood

Saudi Arabian government has urged Hajj pilgrims to take extra precautions as temperatures during this year’s pilgrimage are expected to soar between 40 and 47 degrees Celsius.

The National Centre of Meteorology Saudi Arabia stated this in an issued statement saying the weather forecast includes intense heat, reduced visibility and a chance of thunderstorms.

It says that the humidity levels could range from 15 to 60 percent, adding to the challenges faced by millions of pilgrims.

The Saudi authorities have installed air conditioning units, 244 mist fans and over 3,100 ventilation fans across the holy sites.

This comes after a tragic season last year, when more than 1,300 pilgrims died during the Hajj, many due to extreme heat.

Pilgrims are being advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged sun exposure and follow safety instructions from officials.
