GSHA calls on the state govt to assist Balanga North flood victims

Gombe State House of Assembly committee on rural, community development, and Sustainable Development Goals has called on the executive arm to as a matter of urgent importance give aid to the people of Degre, Sikam, and Kulani in Balanga North to alleviate the suffering caused by flooding

The call was made during the plenary session after the committee visited the scene and reported back to the house.

Presenting the report the Deputy Chairman of the committee Shaibu Adamu Haruna recommended that the state government should come to the aid of the victims to alleviate their suffering, direct the state emergency management agency SEMA to provide palliative to the residents, and also request the state government to direct ministry of Works to reconstruct the dilapidated bridge before total collapse.

The member representing Balanga North Musa Buba thanked the members and the committee for showing concern to his constituents.

Musa Buba therefore urged the people of Degre, Sikam, and Kulani to be patient as he is sure that the government of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has the people at heart and will do the needful.

In a related development,
The house earlier screened and confirmed the only remaining commissioner nominee Dr. Abdullahi Bappa Garkuwa from the Gombe local government area.

The commissioner nominee Abdullahi Bappa thanked Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for finding him worthy to serve in the state executive Council and promised to serve based on the political will of Governor Inuwa’s administration.

The screening was chaired by the deputy speaker Gombe State House of Assembly Saddam Bello Saleh.

In his remarks, the speaker of the house Abubakar Mohammad Luggerewo urged the incoming members of the state executive Council to maintain the synergy existing with the other arms of government.
