The Yobe State Command of the Nigerian Police Force has announced the successful foiling of a house trespass and theft incident, resulting in the recovery of a stolen tricycle and the apprehension of two suspects.
A swift joint operation by the ‘A’ Divisional Police Headquarters in Damaturu and Tarmuwa Division Operatives led to the arrest of two individuals: 25-year-old Isa Umar from Sumsuma Village, Damaturu, and 21-year-old Maina Manu from Alimarami Extension, Damaturu. The stolen tricycle was recovered, and the suspects confessed to the crime.
The incident occurred on January 13, 2024, at approximately 0200hrs, when unknown individuals entered the residence of Ali Abubakar in Babangida Town, Tarmuwa LGA, locked him and his wife in their bedroom, and stole his TVS model tricycle (Napep) with registration number YAROTO NO. 083 TMW.
The police are conducting an ongoing investigation for subsequent prosecution.
Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, commended the prompt response of the police operatives and reiterated the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
He urged the public to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
