Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has approved increased logistics support to security agencies to enhance their efficiency.
The Special Adviser on Security Affairs, to Governor Buni, Brig. Gen. Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), stated this while briefing journalists on the outcome of the state security council meeting held at the council chamber of the government house Damaturu.
The meeting, chaired by Governor Mai Mala Buni, has also approved the expansion of the “Operation Haba Maza” security outfit to include all other security agencies and establish its presence in additional locations across the state.
According to Gen. Abdulsalam, the expanded outfit will now operate in Potiskum, Gashua, Nguru, Geidam, and Buni Yadi.
He explained that the move aims to strengthen internal security throughout the state.
The Special Adviser pointed out that the temporary closure of three weekly markets in the state was a proactive measure to ensure public safety, with ongoing operations in those areas to prevent potential security breaches.
He, further revealed that the state government and security agencies are working together to maintain the improved security situation in Yobe State, adding that the public’s support and cooperation are essential to achieving the mandate.
The meeting was attended by the heads of security agencies in the state.
