Bauchi State Government Reaffirms commitment to settle Gratuity backlog.

Bauchi State Government has reaffirmed readiness to clear the backlog of gratuities owed to retired State and Local Government civil servants.

Executive Secretary of the State Pension Commission, Alhaji Ibrahim Inuwa, disclosed this while issuing cheques to Local Government retirees who retired from service in February and March 2012.

Alhaji Inuwa stated that the payment of outstanding gratuities would continue in batches until all eligible retirees received their entitlements in full.

He explained that Governor Bala Muhammad was making concerted efforts to secure adequate funding to settle the outstanding gratuity arrears across the state.

According to him, the State Pension Commission was developing modalities to enable next-of-kin access the benefits of deceased pensioners seamlessly.

Alhaji Inuwa appealed to pensioners for patience, assuring them that their entitlements would be fully paid.

Some beneficiaries, including Abdullahi Ahmad from Itas Gadau and Yahaya Yusuf Danladi from Shira LGA appreciated the government for fulfilling its pledge.
