Gov. Buni Approves Employment of 158 Health Workers

The Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved the employment of 158 community Nursing graduates of the Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery Damaturu.

The statement made available to newsmen by the Director General of Press and Media Affairs to Governor Buni, Mamman Mohammed, says the beneficiaries are graduates of two sets of Community Nursing at the college.

Similarly, Governor Buni has approved the payment of N10,000 monthly allowance to 393 students of Yobe state origin, undergoing National Diploma and Basic Midwifery programmes at the Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery.

According to the statement, the approval indicates that 67 of the benefitting students are also entitled to 11 months’ arrears of the allowance.

It also explained that the 326 new students of Yobe state origin undertaking Basic Midwifery and National Diploma in Nursing programme, are to start benefiting from the approved N10,000 monthly allowance.

Governor Buni urged the newly employed health personnel to be dedicated to serving the people better.

He charged them to key into the reform programme of the state government to provide efficient, accessible, and affordable medical services to the people.

The Governor further called on the students to study hard to justify the government’s investment in them.
