Adamawa State is set to commence the admission process for successful candidates from its recent two-month wealth creation exercise into its ten Technical Skills Training Centres across the state.

The Director-General of the Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency PAWECA, Michael Zirra, disclosed this during a press briefing in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.

The PAWECA boss, Michael Zirra, further explained that the admission process aligns with the state government’s empowerment policy and youth development agenda in a bid to reduce the rate of unemployment in the state.

He emphasized that there would be a needs assessment to sensitize candidates on their chosen courses, urging successful candidates to go to their respective local government Secretariat on Tuesday, 19 August 2025, for the exercise.

Zirra further revealed that the National Board for Technical Education has approved the accreditation of the Adamawa State Technical Skills Training Centres to award the National Certificate in Technology.

He added that with this development, certificate holders from the centres would be eligible for employment worldwide, and urged successful profiled candidates who sat for the exams to check the admission list for their names on the notice boards of their respective local government secretariats.

Zirra, who attributed the delay in the admission process to the condition of some of the centres affected by the windstorm, said they were being repaired, hence the commencement of academic activities at the ten Technical Skills Training Centres across the state.

He commended Governor Fintiri’s giant strides in turning Adamawa State into a business hub, noting that the Fintiri Business Wallet would be paid this month to the intended beneficiaries.

The PAWECA boss, Michael Zirra, expressed confidence that the next phase of the empowerment programme would cover the one hundred thousand beneficiaries earlier announced by the Governor.
