The New General Manager Fombina FM Yola Malam Muhammad Babayo Asha has pledged to consolidate on the achievements recorded by his predecessor.
Malam Muhammad Babayo Asha who made the pledge after taking over the mantle of leadership of the Station in Yola, assured to sustain and improve on the already recorded milestone.
He solicited the support and cooperation of management and the entire staff in his renewed vigor to take the station to greater height.
The General Manager also assured to justify the confidence repose in him, by bringing new innovations and ensuring professionalism in running the affairs of the station.
Earlier, the Immediate Past General Manager of the Station Dahiru Garba Muhammed who is taking the new role of Acting Zonal Director FRCN Northeast Zone said under his leadership Fombina FM remained the leading Broadcast medium in Adamawa State.
“The station has maintain a steady On Air presence from 6:00am to 10:00PM, Iam happy to say that in the last 8 years even once, we have not gone Off air for 24 hours. The Station has also maintain lead in terms of quality content within the Adamawa Broadcast Community”
Malam Dahiru Garba who said the station’s revenue grew from 3 million per annum to over 30 million in 2023 which is above the 17 Million target given to the station.
“During the past 8 years and 8 month that I had the privilege of leading the station we have been consciouss to prioritize operational expenses and staff claims, Iam please to report that the station has no outstanding liability either Staff Claims or diesel. we are also up to date in the payment of Casual staff allowance, we also made effort to pay a Judgement Sum of Over 2 million against the Cooperation in favour of Adamawa State revenue service over unremitted payee by the FRCN Kaduna zonal Station as well as outstanding liability for staff claims and disel dating back to 2012”
He assured support towards solarising the station in no distant future to address the problem of power outage.
The General Manager also lament the Operational cost due to high energy consumption transmitter use by the station despite low commercial patronage.
Malam Dahiru Garba Muhammed enjoined the staff of the station to extend the same support given to him to enable the new General Manager succeed.
In a reception Organised by the Management and Staff to honour the Immediate past General Manager, a one-time General Manager Fombina FM Alhaji Abubakar Jimeta Commended Dahiru Garba for steering the affairs of the station to an unprecedented level.
In a remak the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists, Bauchi State Council Comrade Umar Sa’idu describe the New appointment of Malam Dahiru Garba Muhammed as apt Considering his track record of achievements since during his time as NUJ Chairman Bauchi State Council.
On their Part the Adamawa State Coordinator Nigeria Broadcasting Commission NBC Malam Haruna and Grace Mamzer the State Coordinator Human Rights Commission testify the professional Conduct of Malam Dahiru Garba Muhammed which accelerated the Station Progress.
Highlight of the reception was presentation of award from Management staff, News and Programmes Department to the Former General Manager Malam Dahiru Garba Muhammed for exceptional performance while piloting the affairs of Fombina FM Yola.
