The Staff of Radio Nigeria in the North East Zone have been charged to upgrade their skills by embracing convergence journalism to meet modern-day standards.
The call was made by the Zonal Director, Mallam Dahiru Garba, at a one-day capacity building training on Information Communication Technology (ICT) held at Sunshine FM Potiskum, Yobe State, which is organised by the Zonal Office.
Represented by the Head of the ICT Department and facilitator of the training, Mr Yazid Abubakar, the Zonal Director encouraged staff to design programmes that address current issues and trends.
He emphasised the importance of adopting convergence journalism to meet the demands of the modern-day way of disseminating information.
The Zonal Director added that the training aimed to enhance the skills of Radio Nigeria staff in the North East, enabling them to produce high-quality content that meets the demands of their followers.
The General Manager of Radio Nigeria Sunshine FM Yobe, Mohammed Abubakar Bose, has commended the Zonal Office for organising the training, stating that it will keep the staff updated on the latest developments.
