Maryam Shettima has officially taken over as the new Acting Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Yobe State, following the retirement of Alhaji Muhammad Tikau.
The transition was marked by a handing-over ceremony at the NOA directorate office in Damaturu.
In a remark, the outgoing Director, Alhaji Muhammad Tikau, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the blessings and acknowledged the support of the Agency’s staff throughout his tenure.
He urged the staff to cooperate with the new Director, ensuring a smooth transition.
Speaking shortly after taking over, Maryam Shettima pledged to work towards ensuring that Nigerians are well-informed and actively engaged in national development.
She emphasised the importance of her role in promoting awareness and civic engagement among citizens.
The Zonal Director of the Northeast Directorate, Alhaji Ali Audu, congratulated Shettima on her new appointment, expressing confidence in her ability to lead the Directorate effectively.
The staff of NOA Yobe State expressed overwhelming support for Shettima’s appointment, pledging to assist her in discharging her responsibilities, and added that with her leadership, the Agency is expected to continue its mission of promoting national orientation and development.
