The Nigerian Army and Navy have jointly commissioned a series of community development projects in Koya town, Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State.
The projects include a newly constructed mosque, a borehole,a health facility, and a tree-planting initiative, held at Shanono local government area of Kano.
Speaking at the event, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, who was represented by the Commander Infantry, Major General Usman Abdulmumini Yusuf, emphasized the Nigerian Army’s commitment to contributing positively to host communities through civil-military cooperation.
He said the projects reflect the Nigerian Army belief in strengthening bonds with communities.

Representative is Rear Admiral EC Anakwe, mni, emphasized inter-agency collaboration as a key driver of development and national security.
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by Commissioner for Internal Security, AVM Ibrahim Umar (rtd), described the projects as timely and people-oriented.
Director of Civil-Military Cooperation, Maj. Gen. Gold Chibuisi, said the initiative aligns with the military’s broader role in nation-building and humanitarian outreach.
The projects were facilitated by Maj. Gen. Muhammad Sani Ahmad and Rear Admiral Abdullahi Ahmed , The two brothers ,and Generals hail from Koya town in Shanono local government area.
Residents of Koya town welcomed the projects, citing improvements in access to water, healthcare, and places of worship.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by senior military officers, government officials, traditional rulers and other Stakeholders.
