According to the statement, the Commissioner for Higher Education, Muhammad Shettima Gadam, said the increment fulfills Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s promise of timely and improved scholarship support.

Under the revised scheme, the scope of beneficiaries has been expanded to include postgraduate students, covering those studying within and outside the state.

The new scholarship structure shows that PhD, MSc, and PGD students will receive N30,000 each, while Degree and HND students will get N22,000 each.

NCE and ND students will now receive N18,000, while Certificate students are to get N12,000 per session.

Governor Yahaya described the decision as part of his vision to build a knowledge-driven and inclusive society, stating that no individual or group should be left behind.

It will be recalled that the Governor had previously cleared the backlog of scholarship arrears in the state, restoring confidence and ensuring students received their entitlements promptly.
