Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has presented a proposed budget of six hundred and fifty billion, six hundred and thirty one million, Seven hundred thousand naira for the 2026 fiscal year to the state House of Assembly.
Presenting the budget before members of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Governor Agbu Kefas said over 457 billion is for capital expenditure representing 70.36 percent of the budget, while over 192 billion naira is for recurrent expenditure representing 29.64 percent of the budget.
Governor Kefas explained that the budget is designed to drive infrastructural development across the state with specific attention to sectors such as education,health, and transportation.
He said the 2026 budget, which is tagged the “Development We can see,” is anchored on truth, impact, and tangible transformation.
In a remark, Speaker Taraba House of Assembly John kizito Bonzena commended Governor Kefas for dispensing his constitutional duties effectively and for making giant strides across different sectors.
Bonzena assured that lawmakers would carefully check the budget and give it an accelerated passage.
