Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has urged members of the 2025 Batch C Stream I of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) posted to the state to serve with diligence, patriotism, and commitment.
The governor delivered the charge during the official swearing-in ceremony held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Kusalla Dam in Karaye.
Represented by the Director, Special Duties Cabinet Office ,Alhaji Hassan Hussein,the governor welcomed the corps members to Kano, describing the state as a major commercial hub, and encouraged them to participate fully in all camp activities.
He assured them of the government’s commitment to their security and welfare throughout their service year.
He commended the camp officials for their efforts in managing the orientation programme and urged them to maintain high standards of mentorship.
The governor noted that the NYSC Scheme, established five decades ago, has continued to promote national integration, selfless service, and unity. Despite challenges, he said, it remains relevant and attractive to Nigerian youth.
The State Coordinator, Hajiya Halima Abdulkareem, expressed optimism that the corps members would have a smooth orientation exercise and a rewarding service year. She also lauded the Kano State Government for its consistent support to the scheme.
