Governor Buni Orders Closure of Boarding Schools in Yobe

The Yobe State Government has directed the immediate closure of all boarding secondary schools in the state as a proactive measure to safeguard students.

This decision follows a security meeting between Governor Mai Mala Buni and security chiefs in the state, reviewing recent security incidents in schools across the country.

According to a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr Bukar Aji Bukar, the closure is effective immediately, pending improvement in the security situation.

Governor Buni has called on the people of Yobe State to pray for the leadership, security operatives, and improved security in the country.

The government assures citizens that it is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of students and the general public.
