Ex-Deputy Governor, Docked Over Official Vehicles

Sokoto State Judicial Commission of Inquiry docked the former State Deputy Governor Hon. Mannir Muhammad Dan’Iya to testify on the whereabouts of Government Official Vehicles still in his possession.

Dan’Iya who served the state for four years was a principal witness in a case of Government officials’ vehicles believed to be in his possession.

While responding and testifying before the commission, he said shortly after leaving office on the 28th of May 2023, he was asked by the newly elected deputy governor Dr. Idris Mohammed Gobir through his Aide to release the official vehicles in his possession

Dan’Iya further disclosed to the commission that, it was Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto that directed the immediate return of the official vehicles to him earlier received by the current deputy Governor.

According to him, the said vehicles are still in his possession and willing to return them if the state government and the commission so wish.

The commission’s chairman who is the former chief judge of Gombe state Justice Mu’azu Pindiga discharged and acquitted the former Deputy Governor but with a Pledge by the commission to send for him for more clarifications if the need arise.
