The Managing Director of the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA), Alhaji Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, has Commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as decisive and hands-on leadership in the rescue of abducted students from Kebbi and Niger States.
In a statement issued from his office in Kano, Bichi said the President demonstrated exceptional concern for citizens’ safety by personally aborting an international trip to oversee the rescue operation. He said the move reflects a new level of proactive leadership.
Bichi also criticised what he called a recurring pattern in public reactions, where government is swiftly blamed during tragedies but rarely acknowledged when security agencies succeed.
He noted that President Tinubu and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, deserved commendation for the coordinated effort that ensured the students’ safe return.
He urged Nigerians to be fair in their assessments of leadership, saying constructive criticism should be balanced with recognition of positive actions.
He reaffirmed the commitment of HJRBDA to supporting the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda in promoting development and security across communities under its jurisdiction.
