Oil and Gas Academy Alkaleri, Bauchi State, OGAABS has conducted a three-day induction course for over thirty newly employed Non-Academic staff of the institution on the basic operations of Registry, Bursary and Library.
Speaking at the end of the induction course, held at Yankari Game Reserve, the Rector of the Academy, Dr Ahmad Sulaiman Yero said the aim was to acquaint the staff with the requisite knowledge of their areas of assignment, in view of the challenging nature of work in the academic environment.
Dr Ahmad Yero noted that the three-day induction course was apt as it has exposed the trainees to the rudiments of the jobs in their respective departments, expressing optimism that they would put into practice what they have learned.
He warned that the management would use all within its powers to hold the participants accountable, considering the huge investment made by the government in that direction.
The Rector appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed for the support being rendered to the academy and assured of the instruction’s commitment to producing excellent graduands that would stand the taste of time.
The State Commissioner, Natural Resources Department, Mohammed Maiwada Bello, represented by Permanent Secretary, Ibrahim Mato assured the ministry’s unwearing commitment to support the academy in all its dealings.
Speaking, the Chairman Academy’s Governing Board, Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa, represented by the District Head of Alkaleri, Bala Mohammed Gidado emphasised the need for training and retraining for the staff to meet the highest expectation of their assigned roles.
He commend the management for the foresight and urged it to maintain the momentum.
The Lead Consultant for the induction course, and CEO Hamza Mika’il & Co, Dr Rabi’u Aminu charged the trainees to support each other by transferring the knowledge acquired to their colleagues especially those who could not attend the training.
While expressing gratitude to the management of the academy, one of the inductees and Chairman Non Academic Staff of the institution, Comrade Abdurrashid Sulaiman said the training would significantly impact their operations in the public service and pledged to judiciously utilise the knowledge gained.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of certificate to all the inductees.
