Borno Ag.Governor Lauds Military Patriotism, Pledges Continued Support for Families of Fallen Heroes.

The Borno State Ag Governor, Alh Umar Kadafur has reiterated the commitment of State government to the welfare of military personnel both those in active service and the retired.
The Ag. Governor gave the assurance at the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration held at Ramat Square, Maiduguri.

Alhaji Umar Kadafur lauded the patriotism of members of the Nigerian Legion, promising continued support for the families of fallen heroes.

He noted that the annual event serves as a platform to honor those who paid the supreme sacrifice, while appreciating the troops currently on the front lines working to restore internal security in the state and across the nation.

During the event,Ag.called on well-spirited individuals and corporate bodies to donate to the Nigerian Legion,and announced a state government donation of fifty million naira

The Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Borno State Chapter, Retired Major Mallam Tijjani, thanked the state government for its consistent support to families of the fallen heroes

He also commended the gallantry of serving military personnel in the ongoing efforts to ensure total peace in Borno and Nigeria at large.

As part of activities marking the day Ag.Governor performed in the wreath-laying ceremony in honour of fallen heroes of the Nigerian Armed Forces followed by the heads of all the security formations in the state and special prayers were offered for the peaceful repose of the souls of the fallen heroes.
