A Bauchi State based non governmental organization, the Almuhibba Foundation has distributed cash donations to women engaged in small scale businesses at Mallam Dan Garbai residence in Doya Majidadi A Ward, Bauchi metropolis.

The gesture is aimed at empowering women to become self-reliant and improve their socio-economic wellbeing.

The State Coordinator of the Almuhibba Foundation Hajiya Zara Baba said the support was part of the Foundation’s routine empowerment programme designed to put smiles on the faces of beneficiaries and boost their economic activities.

Hajiya Zara explained that the beneficiaries, drawn from a polygamous family in Doya Ward, were selected based on their involvement in petty trading and their financial challenges, with the aim of increasing their business capital.

In his remarks, the Programme Manager of the Foundation Ali Usman said the Almuhibba Foundation was established in 2010 by the wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed to support the less privileged in areas such as health, education, skills acquisition and economic empowerment.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Asma’u Abdullahi and Fatima Ladan, thanked the Foundation for the gesture and pledged to make judicious use of the funds to improve their livelihoods.
